Data protection and privacy statement

Zuri-apotheke.ch takes the data protection very seriously. This document explains which user data are stored, processed, and disclosed by the platform.

Data protection serves to protect the privacy of individuals. It requires data processors to act lawfully, and confers enforceable rights to the affected persons with regard to the processing of their personal data. Section 3 of the Zurich State Act on Information and Data Protection ("Gesetz über die Information und den Datenschutz [IDG ZH]") defines personal data as any information related to an identified or identifiable individual. This includes details such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail or IP addresses.

1. What technical data are stored in our system

Upon every page load, the server might record technical data (such as your IP address, the HTTP URL, the time and date and other session related identifiers). The purpose of these data processing are the following:

  • Ensuring security and correct data transmission
  • Enforcing user identification (upon login) and blocking unauthorized access
  • Optimizing the functionality of the platform and providing customized user experience
These data are stored according to the industry standard persistence policy of webserver. In case of identified security attacks on the network infrastructure or upon request of the law enforcement authorities, these data might be stored for a longer period. Due to technical requirements, the website will store a small identifier on your browser's cache called "cookie". Using this platform means that you accept to receive a such cookie. By default, cookies are deleted when the web browser is closed. You can block the usage of cookies in your browser. Please note that disabling, blocking, or deactivating cookies will limit the functionality of the platform.

2. Where are the data stored

The user data are stored uniquely in Switzerland. The web server and its associated database are hosted in Geneva.

3. Consent to Further Use of Data

Using our platform requires further data collection, processing, and long-term storage of personal data such as names, addresses, health related information and e-mail addresses. By entering and sending this data, you give your consent for this information to be processed, stored and disclosed according to this document.

4. Disclosure of Personal Data

Personal data will be disclosed to third parties (e.g. other authorities) if required by binding legal provisions (e.g. the ruling of an authority, court orders) or for the purposes of legal or criminal prosecution. Personal data will be transmitted to

  • health insurances (mostly but not limited to) for billing the selected services,
  • the government, mostly but not restricted to the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH
  • partnering health institutions (most likely but not limited to, the selected pharmacy)

This data protection statement applies only to the platform. In the case of links pointing to external sites, please refer to the data protection policies of the concerned websites. No responsibility is taken nor guarantee is provided regarding to those exterior websites.

6. Validity

We reserve the right to amend this data protection statement at any time if the implementation of new technologies or the legal situation so requires. For this reason, we advise you to check the data protection statement on a regular basis.
